The following information is being provided pursuant to Section 4(b) of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, Act 5 ILCS 140/4(b).
All requests to inspect, copy, or certify public records of the City of Oregon Police Department must be submitted to the Police Department in writing. The Oregon Police Department encourages requesters to submit their requests on a form available at City Hall or on the Police Department's website. The Freedom of Information Officer shall review all written requests in any form. The Oregon Police Department will review and respond to each written request in a manner consistent with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.

All fees must be paid prior to release of public records.
The City of Oregon will respond to every request within five (5) business days from the date of request unless the City requires an extension pursuant to Section 3(e) of the Act. If the request is for a commercial use, then the city has twenty-one (21) business days.
If an extension is requested or a request is denied, the City will notify the requester in writing stating the specific reason or reasons for the extension or denial.
